Training Course for Scooter Courses - Class 6D

COURSE PROFILE AND ASSOCIATED SERVICES

 

MANDATORY DRIVING COURSE

To obtain a Class 6D licence, you must:

  • be at least 14 years of age

  • have the written consent of your father, mother or legal guardian, if you are under age 18

You are required to pass the 6-hour Road Safety Education Program – Operating a Moped or Motorized Scooter driving course.

The driving course consists of:

  • a 3-hour theoretical component

  • a 3-hour closed track practical component. The last half-hour is reserved for your evaluation

 

You will learn:

  • basic concepts about driving a scooter

  • safe driving rules

  • risks associated with driving

    • Hazards and techniques, intersections, blind spots and parked vehicles are a few examples of hazards you must avoid when riding a scooter. 

They are required reading to pass the knowledge test.

WHAT THE KNOWLEDGE TEST COVERS

The test consists of 32 multiple choice questions that cover:

  • the Highway Safety Code

  • road signs and signals

  • scooter driving techniques

Passing mark

The passing mark is 75%.

ON THE DAY OF THE TEST

 

You must:

Step 1 – Go to the service outlet with which you have scheduled an appointment to take the test and present the following documents:

  • if you are under age 18, the Consent of a Person Having Parental Authority (PDF, 103 KB) form, duly completed and signed by your mother, father or legal guardian

  • the attestation of successful completion of the driving course

  • if this is your first application for a driver's licence, 2 official documents, including one with photo

It is important to register early. Our classes are in high demand and fill up quickly. 

The West Island Motor League is conveniently located in the heart of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.

The school is housed in our own building facing Lake St-Louis. Ample parking right next door. We also have limited parking on site.
